Netherlands telling migrants: ‘We may put you in shipping containers’

"Besides being a long-term political challenge, Europe's refugee crisis has also presented European governments with more practical problems, such as finding enough housing for hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers. On Tuesday, the Dutch government warned asylum seekers that they may have to be accommodated in remodeled shipping containers. Dutch junior justice minister Klaas Dijkhoff was quoted as saying that the current wait time for a decision on an asylum application was about one year. Last week, more than 2,000 refugees arrived in the Netherlands, which has about 16 million inhabitants."
